Memorandum of Cooperation between the Inter-American Convention for the Protection and Conservation of Sea Turtles (IAC) and the Convention for the Protection and Development of the Marine Environment of the Wider Caribbean Region (Cartagena Convention) and its Protocol Concerning Specially Protected Areas and Wildlife (SPAW Protocol)
This memorandum of cooperation acknowledging the necessity of cooperation between SPAW and IAC Conventions in order to achieve the objectives of both agreements and being aware that it is necessary to make every effort to avoid sea turtles becoming further endangered or threatened with extinction, by protecting their feeding grounds, migration and reproductive habitats revolves to establish cooperative linkages within the framework general objectives and workplans of the conventions mentioned; to promote the sharing of information to identify opportunities for cooperation between the Contracting Parties, Secretariats, and subsidiary bodies and the importance, as well as recognizes the importance of attending to meetings organized by each organization and calls on periodically examine the implementation of this memorandum.
