The project is aimed to stimulate economic recovery in the participating countries by strengthening marine and coastal resilience and improving the competitiveness of their economies in three critical and interconnected sectors/areas: tourism, fisheries and aquaculture, and waste management. Growth and jobs in these key sectors have been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The strengthening of regional and national policies and institutional framework to bring back business and attract new investments; scaling up innovative financing mechanisms aimed at enhancing blue economy would contribute to quicker recovery.
El proyecto tiene como objetivo estimular la recuperación económica en los países participantes fortaleciendo la resiliencia marina y costera y mejorando la competitividad de sus economías en tres sectores / áreas críticas e interconectadas: turismo, pesca y acuicultura, y gestión de residuos. El crecimiento y el empleo en estos sectores clave se han visto muy afectados por la pandemia de COVID-19. El fortalecimiento de las políticas y el marco institucional regionales y nacionales para recuperar negocios y atraer nuevas inversiones; La ampliación de los mecanismos de financiación innovadores destinados a mejorar la economía azul contribuirían a una recuperación más rápida.
