Updating the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) Ecosystem Profile for the Caribbean Islands Biodiversity Hotpot - CLME+ HUB

Updating the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) Ecosystem Profile for the Caribbean Islands Biodiversity Hotpot

Brief Description:
The goal of the project is to update the ecosystem profile for the Caribbean Islands biodiversity hotspot through a participatory process. The ecosystem profile will take advantage of emerging opportunities and align with existing investments by governments and other donors, and will provide a platform through which funders and other partners interested in supporting civil society groups in the hotspot can share goals and strategies. The updated profile will be a snapshot of the hotspot in 2017 that describes the current state of, and threats to, biodiversity and the capacity of civil society to engage as a partner in conservation. The framework for a new investment in the Caribbean Islands biodiversity hotspot is being done through a series of national and regional meetings, which would bring opportunities to shape the updated CEPF ecosystem profile and investment framework for the region. This project follows a successful initial five-year investment that ended in July 2016. The project is comprising on a consultative process that will define the parameters of the new CEPF investment in the Caribbean.
